What is a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)?
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) are a detailed assessment of a worker’s physical ability to meet their job’s physical requirements. The results outline the worker’s physical strength, balance, dexterity, mobility and productive work tolerances.
What to expect from an FCE?
At Mountainview Health & Wellness Functional Capacity Evaluations are conducted by a qualified therapist, with specialized training and clinical experience. During most FCEs, the following measurements are taken:
- Lifting power
- Push and pull power
- How long one can stand or walk
- Flexibility and reaching ability
- Grasping and holding capabilities
- Bending capabilities
