What is interval training?
Interval training involves a series of low to high intensity workouts combined with periods of rest. The high intensity phases of exercise should put you in or very close to an anaerobic state, while the recovery phases involve a lower intensity activity.
How can I benefit from interval training?
Research shows that interval training increases fitness and burns more calories in a quicker amount of time than steady state cardio such as running or cycling. Varying the intensity of exercises improves heart function, provides a cardiovascular workout, improves aerobic capacity and enables you to exercise for longer and harder.
What to expect from our Group Interval Training Program?
We offer group interval training programs at both our New Westminster and Surrey locations. Our group training sessions are approximately 1 hour and involve around 9 different exercises or stations. Class size is around 5 – 10 people which allows for plenty of attention from the trainer. We offer both drop in and packages of training sessions.
The 1st session is free!
We like to give people a chance to try out our Group Interval Training Program to see if it is something they really enjoy and would benefit from.
