Effective Exercise Therapy and Hands-on Techniques for Whiplash Associated Minor Injuries
March 14, 2020 - March 15, 2020$241.5 – $456.75
Sat, Mar 14, 2020 (2:00pm-7:15pm) and Sun, Mar 15, 2020 (8:30am-6:00pm)
The main focus of this course is to understand the nature of whiplash associated soft tissue injuries and to prescribe effective exercises and hands-on techniques through the course of recovery. To do this, we would review the biomechanics of MVA injuries, happening from different directions. We would go through the clinical course of WAD and review the prognostic indicators for good and poor functional recovery. A comprehensive patient evaluation process during different stages of disorder would include history taking and a carefully tailored physical examination considering yellow and red flags, based on the traumatic nature of the injury. The treatment would focus on correcting the developed muscle dysfunctions (muscle strains, myofascial trigger points), faulty posturing of head and neck, cervical instability, respiratory pattern changes, scapular dyskinesia, etc. through application of different effective exercise therapy and hands on techniques. The other possible reasons for poor recovery like central sensitization and psychological issues would also be addressed accordingly.
Course incorporated both theory and practical components, with hands-on & exercise therapy training, including: instruction, group discussion, research review, case scenarios and practical assessment and treatment techniques.
